Frequenty Asked Questions

Do your straw prices include the candy?

Yes, prices include EVERYTHING: straws, caps and candy. Shipping charges are additional.

How much candy is in the bottles?

Bottles in Large Group Straw Kits are 10 ounces. Bottles in Small Group Paks are 1 ounce.

Will the Sandy Candy™ I receive be enough for all the straws in my order?

Yes, we have calculated how much candy is needed to fill the # of straws you’ve ordered, and we always send more than enough. We want to allow for spillage, tasting, and plentiful color choice for every last straw.

How many candy bottles do I get with my order? Do I get all 30 flavors?

Our Bottle Table outlines how many bottles would be sent with your Bulk Straw order. Although we have 30 flavors in all, we realize that 30 is a large number of flavors for children to choose from, so we have devised “sets” of the more popular flavors, and would send you 2 each of a number of those flavors, well more than enough to fill your order of straws. (e.g., you receive 35 bottles with an order of 500 12″ straws-we would send 2 each of 17 flavors, plus 1 additional bottle to total 35 bottles). Please e-mail or call our toll-free number if you would like to discuss “sets” or other flavor options.

Can I select my own flavors?

We will send a variety of colors with a good assortment of both sweet and sour flavors. However, you are welcome to choose your own on Large Group Straw Kits — please call to specify flavors. Small Group Paks are pre-packaged — a list of flavors for each Pak can be found on the Products Page and under Ordering Information as well as in the shopping cart.

  • For your shopping convenience we have a secure, online store so you can place your order 24 hours a day, 7 days a week… when it suits your schedule.
  • Call our toll free number at 1-800-FUN-SAND. We’d love to talk to you about using Sandy Candy at your upcoming event.

Can I return unused straws and candy?

We want to protect our customers, and therefore we cannot accept returns. However, the candy has a long shelf-life and can be stored indefinitely. Remember to cover the pointed tips on the candy bottles and store in a cool dry place.

It seems like there’s a lot of sugar in the straws; how much do they hold?

The 12″ straw has 2 TBS — less than the sugar in half a can of soda.

How do you make the candy straws?

Do you offer Sugar-Free Candy?

How does the Sandy Candy™ come and what should we do when our order arrives?

All orders are shipped via UPS Ground. Be sure to open and check your order right away. Your order of Sandy Candy straws comes in bundles of 25 straws. The bags of caps will cover 100 straws plus a few extra in case of dropped/lost caps. When the shipment arrives, the safety seal will need to be removed from the candy bottles, and a small hole snipped in the top of the candy bottles, after the small cap is removed. Save the red caps, because if there are leftovers you can re-cap the candy bottles, and store any remainders in a cool, dry place and the candy will keep until next year. (It has an indefinite shelf-life, guaranteed by the manufacturer for 3 years!) If you are using 2-ended straws, (12″ or 20″) be sure to put a cap on ONE END of the straw BEFORE your event and this will save time the day of your activity.

What would a typical Sandy Candy™ fundraiser booth look like?

Check out our Photo Gallery for a good idea. Be sure to add a sign that says it’s “edible” sand art.

How easy is it to clean up a Sandy Candy™ fundraiser booth in my classroom?

The candy sand sweeps up with a broom or vacuum.
